The artist is a friend of mine and I remember him telling me how he was walking around for hours trying to find a dead cockroach in good condition. Description
This was made, more or less, by casting a real, dead cockroach.
It has deep, amazing, beautiful meaning. which i won't go into here.
I won't even go into the gay, poetic wank that i was thinking when i first saw it emerge.. like how i imagine this is a perfect representation of that final moment of its life, where it crained its head to the right and the gates of perception were broken away.
Where it looked up into the sky, and for a brief moment, had the cognitive freedom to realise all it was, was a cockroach.. and that there was so much more to life than scuttling around and fleeing from the light.
...and then i did.
